Gambia : transitioning to a case-based surveillance system: KAP, data quality, and concordance study.

General objective :

The aim of this study is to assess the prepardness of the TB management system to move to case-based surveillance system.

Specific objectives :

  • To assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of TB service providers on the use of a case-based surveillance system
  • To assess the data quality and concordance of verified and reported data of the TB/HIV tracker against the aggregate data.
  • To identify strategies and or remedial actions for the roll-out of the TB/HIV tracker to all DOTs.

Method :

A mixed study of 11 target sites for e-tracker deployment in Q1 2024 has been conducted.

QUALITATIVE ASPECTS: after three months’ use of the tracker, a CAP study was carried out among agents via interviews and focus groups.

QUANTITATIVE ASPECTS: A study of the quality and concordance of the data entered was also carried out.
