DRAF TB launches its follow-up program to the “Political Declaration of the United Nations High-Level Meeting on TB” in 12 French-speaking countries in Central and West Africa.

Two years after the political declaration by heads of state and government, made at the first-ever UN High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis in September 2018, it is important to take stock of the progress made towards the resolutions made at that meeting. It is with this in mind that, with the support of Stop TB Partnership and the collaboration of the Global TB Caucus, WARN/CARN TB, national TB control programs and the WHO TB Civil Society Task Force, DRAF TB is implementing a program from July 2020 to June 2021, to empower TB communities and survivors to follow up on the political declaration of the UN High Level Meeting on TB in 12 francophone countries in Central and West Africa.

Through this project, DRAF TB intends to: i) support and align national efforts in 12 French-speaking African countries in the implementation of human rights-sensitive activities; ii) improve advocacy for the achievement of UNHLM goals; iii) reduce barriers to access to health services with the involvement of TB survivors and affected people; iv) strengthen partnerships between civil society, TB-affected communities, survivors, NTPs and parliamentarians in the French-speaking African region.
