Togo : strategy for improving the management of individual data on tuberculosis patients: evaluation of the use of the tb tracker in Togo

General objective  :

Evaluate the implementation of E-Tracker TB in terms of quality of data collected, and stakeholder satisfaction in the Grand Lomé region of Togo to help develop a strategy for the use of this tool.

Specific Objectives :

  • Evaluate the implementation of E-Tracker in terms of data quality and the workload of stakeholders;
  •        Identify barriers to optimal use of E-Tracker-TB at TB focal point level;
  •        Evaluate the acceptability and satisfaction of the E-Tracker platform;
  •        Develop a strategy to improve the use of E-Tracker TB by focal points.

 

Method :

The study will be carried out in two phases :

Phase 1 (4 sites in Lomé): Mixed, descriptive cross-sectional study combining a quantitative and a qualitative approach. Exploratory study design.

The qualitative part will look at why the E-tracker-TB has not worked as expected since its introduction on the sites and will be based on interviews with the players.

The quantitative part will assess the quality of data from the E-Tracker TB platform in comparison with source documents.

Phase 2 (all 27 CDTs in Greater Lomé): Development of a strategy to optimize the use of E-tracker
