On Thursday, September 24, 2020, coordinators of national TB control programs and services met via the ZOOM platform, to take stock of the programmatic management of TB preventive treatment (TPT) in the region. This meeting was part of the monthly virtual meeting between national TB program managers, to identify ways and means of strengthening TB control results in the region. The meeting enabled participants to review the new WHO 2020 recommendations on TPT, and to discuss the current level of TPT implementation in the region’s countries. At the end of the meeting, a survey was launched by the Executive Secretariat to identify the main difficulties encountered by countries in the region in implementing the TPT, so that solutions can be found at future meetings.
