Scientific research and innovation in the fight against tuberculosis (TB) regularly push the boundaries, shaking up certainties. From the involvement of artificial intelligence in the analysis of radiographic TB lesions, to the use of video to monitor therapeutic compliance, to the development of shorter treatment regimens, new recommendations are frequently published.
The new tools on offer strengthen the arsenal of those involved in the fight against tuberculosis, enabling them to meet emerging challenges. In such a dynamic environment, ongoing training is the only way to ensure that those involved in the fight against tuberculosis keep abreast of the latest developments.
With this in mind, WARN/CARN-TB and WHO/TDR organized a webinar on March 27, 2024, to enable network members to familiarize themselves with the platform put online by WHO, for ongoing training on TB. Karina HALLE from WHO/GTB and her colleagues explained the usefulness and functioning of the platform.
Available at https://openwho.org/channels/end-tb, this multilingual platform offers courses focusing on the various aspects of program management in the fight against tuberculosis. Most of the courses on the platform lead to a free certificate. Course materials can also be downloaded and consulted offline. In addition, courses are regularly updated and can be adapted to the national context by NTPs.
Participants were enthusiastic about the use of this platform, which will facilitate the training of programmatic actors in the fight against TB on the latest recommendations.
